The Rova badge: the three-dimensional gold and black R with the Rova wordmark on a black tile

Rova brand assets

The Rova mark is a glossy three-dimensional R: a sculpted gold bowl over a dark body. These are the official files, supplied as high-resolution raster, free to use when you are referring to Rova, listing us as a partner, or putting us on your artwork.

Download the full kit ZIP, 4.1 MB · every file, plus the written rules

The one rule that matters: when in doubt, use the badge. It carries its own brand-black background and gold keyline, so it holds together on any artwork, photo or colour. It is the only file that cannot fail against a background we do not control. Reach for a transparent mark only when you know exactly what is behind it.

Download

These are raster files, produced at the highest resolution the mark’s artwork genuinely supports. The two single-colour knockouts also ship as SVG, because a silhouette is a shape and a curve-fitted outline is faithful to it. The files marked Print are 300 dpi at the mark’s native detail, so they contain no upscaling at all. Please do not upscale a PNG.

Badge

The mark and the Rova wordmark on the brand-black tile with a gold keyline. It brings its own background, so it cannot fail against your artwork: photos, light pages, coloured panels, printed flyers. If you are unsure, this is the file.

Minimum size 120 px wide floor, 160 px+ recommended
Mark, dark backgrounds, shown on the kind of background it is made for

Mark, dark backgrounds

The bare mark with its gold glow, transparent background. For dark backgrounds only, and only above 64 px. The glow is not decoration: the mark has a dark body, so without it the letter sinks into black and navy and only a gold crescent survives. Do not remove it.

Minimum size 64 px
Mark, light backgrounds, shown on the kind of background it is made for

Mark, light backgrounds

The bare mark retuned for light backgrounds, with the gold deepened by a hue-preserving lightness curve so it does not wash out on a white page. Measured against #ffffff, every pixel of the mark clears 3.00:1 and the mark averages 12.0:1.

Minimum size 64 px
White knockout, shown on the kind of background it is made for

White knockout

Solid white, one colour, no gradient. For a dark or busy background where a single-colour knockout is wanted, and for one-colour print. Being a silhouette, this one is genuinely vector: the SVG scales to any size.

Minimum size 24 px
Black knockout, shown on the kind of background it is made for

Black knockout

Solid black, one colour, no gradient. For a light background, faxes, stamps, engraving and one-colour print. Being a silhouette, this one is genuinely vector: the SVG scales to any size.

Minimum size 24 px
Solid mark, small sizes, shown on the kind of background it is made for

Solid mark, small sizes

The R as one solid gold silhouette. Use this under about 64 px: favicons, app rows, sponsor strips. At small sizes the gold edge and the gloss on the normal mark fall below the rendering threshold and the letter goes muddy; this one does not. It also survives a busy photograph better than any other bare mark.

Minimum size 24 px

How big can it go?

The mark’s master artwork holds 622 × 597 pixels of real detail. That is a hard ceiling: everything in this kit is produced from it, and no file can contain more detail than the master has. At 300 dpi that means the bare mark is honest up to about 53 mm (2.1 in) wide, and the badge up to about 228 mm (9.0 in). The files marked Print are supplied at exactly that ceiling. If you need it bigger, ask us and we will re-render the mark from the 3D source at whatever size you need, which is a genuinely better file than anything you can make by enlarging these.

Clear space

Leave clear space on all four sides equal to the height of the R’s counter, the enclosed hole in the bowl of the letter. Nothing goes inside that margin: no text, no rules, no other logos, no edge of the page.

The bare mark with its clear space drawn as a dashed boundary
Bare mark · keep 0.17 × the R’s height clear
The badge with its clear space drawn as a dashed boundary
Badge · keep 0.10 × the badge’s height clear

The dashed frames show where the boundary sits, not a measurement: the supplied files already carry about 1.9× that margin inside the artwork, so placing a file as supplied keeps you inside the rule. Measure from the visible edge of the R only if you crop it tight.

Sizes and which file to use

Minimum sizes

  • Badge: 120 px wide absolute floor, 160 px or more recommended. Below 120 px the wordmark closes up.
  • Mark, dark or light: 64 px. Below that the gold edge thins out and the glow swallows the letter.
  • Solid mark, white and black knockouts: 24 px.
  • In print: the badge no smaller than 30 mm wide, a bare mark no smaller than 16 mm.

Which file to use

  • Unsure, or on someone’s artwork: the badge.
  • Dark background, above 64 px: mark, dark.
  • Light background, above 64 px: mark, light.
  • Under about 64 px — favicons, app rows, sponsor strips: the solid mark.
  • One colour only, print, engraving, stamps: the white or black knockout. Those two are the only approved one-colour versions.

Formats

  • PNG is the format. The mark is a glossy 3D letterform with gradients and highlights. A vector trace flattens that into solid patches and stops looking like the logo, so we supply raster and say so.
  • SVG for the two knockouts only. White and black are single-colour silhouettes, so their curve-fitted outlines are faithful, and those scale to any size.
  • Marks are square at 256 / 512 / 1024 px; the badge is 600 / 1200 / 1800 px wide.
  • Print files are 300 dpi at the mark’s native detail, with no upscaling. Hand a printer one of those.
  • Please do not upscale a PNG, and please do not screenshot the logo off this page. Ask us instead.

All of this, and the exact colour ramps, are in README.txt inside the kit.

Colours

One-colour uses are #ffffff or #000000 only. There is no other approved one-colour version.
