Creator Earnings & Payout Terms
Effective October 3, 2026 · Version 2026-10-03
These Creator Earnings & Payout Terms (the “Earnings Terms”) apply to creators who receive gifts on Rova live streams and to how Rova pays them. They are part of the Rova Terms of Service and sit alongside the Rova Gold Terms and the Live Gifting Community Rules. “Rova”, “we” and “us” mean Rova Inc. “You” means the creator. We ask you to accept these Earnings Terms when you set up payouts, and again before your next payout if we change them in a material way.
1. What Carats are
1.1 Carats record what Rova owes you. When a viewer sends you a gift, Rova credits your account with Carats. Carats are Rova's own record of an amount Rova has agreed to pay you under these Earnings Terms. They are not money held for you, not a deposit, and not a transfer of the viewer's money to you.
1.2 Gifts are not payments for services. A gift is a voluntary act of support by a viewer. You may not promise or deliver anything in exchange for gifts (see the Live Gifting Community Rules).
1.3 Carats can't be transferred to another person or account and can't be sold. Carats that have finished their hold can be converted into Gold as described in section 7.5 of the Gold Terms; Carats you convert are no longer payable to you.
2. How much you earn
2.1 Standard share. For every 1 Gold gifted to you, you receive 1 Carat. One Carat is worth US$0.005, so 100 Carats are worth $0.50, about 50% of the web list price of the gifts that earned them.
2.2 Signature creators. If we admit you to the Signature programme (verified, 18 or older, and meeting the monthly live-streaming target we publish), you receive 1.2 Carats per Gold for the months you qualify. We will tell you in writing when you are admitted.
2.3 The share doesn't depend on how the viewer paid. It is the same whether the viewer bought Gold on the web or in the app.
2.4 Changes. We may change the share or the Carat value for gifts received after the change, with at least 30 days' notice. Changes never reduce Carats you have already earned.
3. Who can be paid
3.1 To receive gifts and be paid you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- be a resident of the United States with a valid US taxpayer identification number (payouts are United States only);
- complete identity verification and onboarding with our payout partner, Stripe (Stripe Connect Express), and keep it in good standing. If you are a Rova Founder, the payout account you already set up for the Founders Program is used, and you don't need to set up another;
- have an account in good standing with Rova;
- at launch, be a verified creator or a member of the Rova Founders Program (we will open receiving to more creators over time); and
- accept these Earnings Terms.
3.2 Stripe's identity checks are part of how we confirm your age and identity. Stripe, not Rova, collects and keeps your identity documents, bank details and tax form. We may ask for more information at any time.
4. When and how you are paid
4.1 14-day hold. Carats are “pending” for 14 days after each gift and then become “available”. The hold lets us deal with refunds, chargebacks and fraud before money moves.
4.2 Weekly payouts. Once a week (each Monday, UTC), your available Carats are paid to the bank account you connected in Stripe, in US dollars, at US$0.005 per Carat, as long as the amount to pay is at least $20 (4,000 Carats). Smaller amounts are not lost: they roll over and are paid in the first week the total reaches $20. We pay whole cents; a fraction of a cent stays in your balance for the next payout. Stripe then moves the money to your bank on its own schedule.
4.3 Review. Your first payout, and any payout over $2,000, is reviewed by a person before it is sent, which can delay it beyond the weekly date. We may also review and hold any payout that our fraud checks flag. If we hold your payouts, we will tell you why in writing and how to respond.
4.4 Fees. Rova pays Stripe's payout fees. You receive the full amount shown for the payout. We don't charge you any fee for receiving gifts beyond the share in section 2.
4.5 Founders. If you are also a Rova Founder, your Founder commissions are paid under the Founders Program terms, to the same Stripe account, as a separate line from your Carat earnings.
5. Refunds, chargebacks and fraud (reversals)
5.1 If the Gold behind a gift is refunded, charged back, disputed, reported as fraudulent, or was obtained with a stolen or unauthorised payment method, we may reverse the Carats that gift earned you. We act when the refund or dispute is opened; if it is later decided in our favour (the refund is declined or we win the dispute), we restore what we reversed.
5.2 In this order. We take reversed Carats back:
- first from your Carats that have not been paid out yet (pending or available);
- then, if you converted Carats into Gold, from that Gold if it is still unspent; and
- if those Carats were already paid out to you, the amount becomes a negative balance on your earnings, which we deduct from your future payouts.
We never charge your card or bank account for a negative balance; we only deduct it from what we would otherwise pay you. Every reversal is shown in your earnings.
5.3 Fraud and abuse. If we reasonably believe that gifts to you involved fraud, money laundering, self-gifting, coordinated gifting by linked accounts, stolen content, or a breach of the Community Rules, we may hold your Carats and payouts while we investigate, reverse affected Carats, and end your eligibility. We never hold your balance without a human review and a written reason, and you can appeal: Contact support.
6. Taxes
6.1 You are responsible for taxes on your earnings. You provide your tax information (a W-9) through Stripe during payout setup.
6.2 Rova, through Stripe, issues the tax forms the law requires (for example a Form 1099) when your earnings reach the reporting threshold.
6.3 We may withhold amounts where the law requires (for example, backup withholding if your tax information is missing or incorrect).
7. Your statement
Your earnings card on rovasocial.com/gold shows your pending and available Carats, the amount ready for the next payout, the next payout date, every payout, and any reversal or negative balance. Your Stripe payout dashboard shows the transfers to your bank.
8. Ending these Earnings Terms
You can stop receiving gifts at any time. If you or we end your participation, we will pay out your available balance once it has cleared the 14-day hold and any review, as long as it is at least $20, unless it is subject to a reversal under section 5.
9. Independent relationship
You are an independent creator, not an employee, partner or agent of Rova. Nothing in these Earnings Terms creates an employment relationship.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these Earnings Terms. If a change is material, we will tell you before it takes effect and ask you to accept the new version before your next payout. Questions about earnings or payouts: Contact support.
